Spicy Fall flavours come together in this healthier version of a cake.
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
2tbsp baking powder
2tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp nutmeg
1tbsp corn starch
1/4c cocoa powder (0% fat)
1 cup beets, grated
1 cup carrots, grated
2 large egg whites
1/4c brown sugar
1/4c pure maple syrup
Mix all dry ingredients.
Mix all wet ingredients.
Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix well.
Pour into parchment lined baking dish.
Bake at 350F for 45minutes or until a toothpick comes out of the center clean.
We dusted with icing sugar and drizzled this with 0% fat chocolate topping for extra richness.
